2021-05-02 Virtual College Fairs (ongoing through May 2)

The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) will hold a series of Virtual College Fairs.

On each fair date, hundreds of colleges will offer Zoom sessions for high school students like you. Students everywhere can log in, drop in, and ask questions.

2021-01-15 Donations Needed for TJ Teacher/Staff Holiday Gift Cards

The TJ Hospitality Committee sent out $20 Appreciation Gift Cards to everyone who works at TJ (since we can not have our usual Staff Appreciation Lunches). Here are just a few of the many thank you notes TJ teachers and staff have written in response to receiving these gift cards funded by you, our members.

2021-01-15 Class of 2022 Council Holiday Activities

This past Winter Break, 2022 Class Council hosted various events to promote holiday spirit and class bonding. Towards the beginning of break, they hosted a game night for students to relax and have fun after a stressful year. Additionally, dozens of students participated in a week-long game of Holiday Assassins, where students interacted with one another to convince their opponents to say a holiday-themed target word. Lastly, 2022 Class Council organized a decoration contest, where students were able to submit photos of their holiday-themed decor around the house.

2021-01-18 to 01-22 SGA Spirit Week

Spirit Week

Back in November, we had our first TJ Spirit Week of the year. If you missed out on the fun, we are holding another one from Monday, January 18th – Friday, January 22nd. Get ready to show your school spirit! Just as last time, you have the chance to win great prizes and rewards for participating! Yay!

Mistletoe Mind Monday: We will be hosting a Winter Trivia Competition on Zoom about holiday movies, the science behind winter weather, and much more! Top winners will receive Amazon gift cards!

TikTok Tuesday: Recreate the TikTok dance to Holiday by Lil Nas X posted on the @tj.sga TikTok account. Be sure to tag @tj.sga and use the hashtag #tjsga to be eligible to win a giant elephant stuffed animal prize.

Wintry Wednesday: Vote for an Officer (Sean, Tiffany, Jordan, or Bhaswith) pied on Instagram live! We will be posting a poll on our Instagram story @tj.sga so make sure to check it out and vote! Students can also dress up as a winter character like Santa or a snowman, or wear your favorite ugly sweater or hat. Post a picture of your costume to your Instagram story with the tag @tj.sga or submit to the Google Form linked in our bio to be entered into the raffle for a featured SGA post shouting out your Instagram! 

Treat Thursday: We are so excited to announce our collaboration with Jeff Chefs! Create a festive dish, traditional holiday dish, or frosty dish (cold foods like ice cream, drinks, etc.) and enter a photo submission through a form on Jeff Chef’s Facebook We will be accepting entries starting Monday until Wednesday night at 11:59 PM. Winners will be chosen by SGA Officers and Jeff Chefs, and we will announce the winners on Thursday during lunch. The first place winners in each category will receive a reward of $10!

Festival Friday: SGA is hosting a Karaoke Night on Friday over Zoom! All students can sign up to perform in the audience. We have some very special performers already booked including JJLee, Lil Dahroo, Quentin Lovejoy, and Richik Haldar & Adam Rodriguez. 

2021-01-22 Second Semester Small Groups Sign Ups (SGA) – Deadline: Friday, 1/22

For the 2nd Semester, TJ SGA is opening up sign-ups again for the Small Groups program! The Small Groups program is a great opportunity for you to socialize with others throughout the rest of this virtual school year. When you sign up, we will sort you into groups of 6-10 based on hobbies, interests, etc. Throughout the year, small groups can meet regularly to catch up via video call with each other, play online games, study together, watch movies, etc.

To sign up, please fill out this form by Friday, January 22th 11:59 PM. All small groups will be overseen by a student facilitator. The facilitator will be responsible for leading, organizing group meetings, and helping group members get acquainted with each other. If you would be interested in being a student facilitator for a group, please note so in the Google Form.
