TJ PTSA General Membership Fee Survey
It has been brought to our attention by the VA PTA that our membership fees are one of the highest in the state, and are the highest in the surrounding area. This is a matter that we are looking into and would like community feedback. Please participate in the two-question survey regarding the PTSA General Membership Fee. Should we reduce the General Membership fee?

2021-09-26 Free Practice SAT Test Provided by Huntington Learning Center
Dear TJ Parents and Students,
Huntington Learning Center is providing a free practice SAT Test to Thomas Jefferson Students on Sep 26th (this coming Sunday) at 10am. The practice test will be proctored via zoom, please see the details for the registration as well as the zoom meeting in the below flyer. Please make sure to registerin advance. They will also provide a free evaluation (on request) with the center director to show you your strengths and areas of improvement. BACK TO SCHOOL BASH — VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The PTSA and the Student Activities Office is in need of volunteers to help with the Back to School Bash this Friday night. This is a super fun event for the students. There will be games, food trucks, music, etc. before the home football game that starts at 7:00. Please consider volunteering to help make this a success for our students.

Back to School BashThe TJ Activities Office is once again hosting the Back to School Bash this Friday before the football game. The fun starts at 4:00 and the football game starts at 7:00. The Activities Office has asked the TJ PTSA to help. Please consider volunteering. We will also have a table set up for membership registration and questions. 10-15-2021 Reflections Call for Entries
Reflections is a National PTA-sponsored program that encourages students to express themselves through the arts. Students can submit work in the following six categories: Dance Choreography, Music Composition,
Literature, Film Production, Visual Arts and Photography. The art is judged at the school level with the winner in each category moving on to the County level, then District level, State level and finally National level. This year, similar to last year, all the Reflections entries will be digital.
This year’s theme is: I Will Change the World.
Please carefully reviews all the rules and guidelines, or rules and guidelines (Spanish) and pay particular attention to the following additional rules:
Dance and Film: if background music is used, citation is required
Literature: include word count, entries must be less than 2,000 words
Music: list musicians and/or instrumentation
Photography and Visual Arts: list dimensions
Dance, Film and Music: recordings must not exceed 5 minutes, file size must not exceed 1.000MB

2021-08-31 Call for Paid Volunteers: Picture Days
LifeTouch will be at TJ on 8/31 and 9/1 for underclass pictures. They need some PTSA volunteers to help them out!
LifeTouch photographers will be at TJ from 8:30-3:50 on August 31th, Tuesday, and 8:30-2:05 on September 1st, Wednesday. Volunteers will receive $14.99 off of their photo package.
