2021-06-26 3pm-7pm TJ 2020 Summer Reunion #2 at Barcroft Park

Hello TJ class of 2020 parents.

Hope you are doing well and getting ready for the summer!

As you may know, the Facebook group for TJ class of 2020 parents is no longer active. Ram Boreda has created a new Facebook group for 2020 TJ parents and invites you to join here:https://www.facebook.com/groups/1128846430914641/

A few 2020 parents are organizing two reunion events on May 23rd and June 26th for the class of 2020 students since they missed their senior celebration events last year due to Covid-19.

The above FB group will be used for planning the event this summer and future activities. If you have any questions, please join the above group for more information.

2021-05-28 Seniors Came Together for School and Social

The Class of 2021 is winding up their four years of TJ, and everyone was invited back for in person school on Thursday and Friday last week, topped off by great time together at the May Senior Social on Friday afternoon.

280 students gathered, most in t-shirts of their future college, to connect with others going to the same school, congratulate each other, and enjoy some rare time all together with friends in this senior year of limited contact.

The rain held off enough to allow the event to be held mostly in the courtyard by Nobel Commons.

This slice of normalcy was a chance for seniors to just be seniors, to talk and smile and be together.

Thank you to all the volunteers and the administration who made this possible!

The Class of 2021 is looking forward to graduation and the grad party to come.

Congrats to the seniors on girls lacrosse—unfortunately their game was canceled due to stormy weather. All the best to them and all the seniors as they say goodbye to their TJ days later this week!

2021-05-30 5:30pm Executive Committee Officer Ballot is Open

The 2021-22 EC Officer Ballot is open as of 5pm today. If you are a TJ PTSA member who purchased a 2020-21 membership product, you should have received an email from the TJ PTSA Tellers Committee with instructions. If you did not, please follow these steps:

  1. Verify that you actually bought a 2020-21 TJ PTSA membership product. Each membership is entitled to one vote. Read FAQ #8 here to find out how you can check what you’ve bought.
  2. If you have bought the correct membership (adult for adults, faculty for faculty, student for student) please check the email address that you use to log into AtoZ Connect. That’s where the ballot was sent. Check your junk mail folder.
  3. If you still need help, email tellers@tjptsa.org for help. Don’t struggle too long, email us for help, about 5%-10% of voters have issues with VerifyMe. We’re happy to help you.

We still had quite a few student members with no emails, so they will not get ballots. We’ve tried to contact their parents for a while with no success. If you have bought your child a PTSA membership and didn’t provide their email to the Tellers Committee, and you want them to vote, read FAQ # Q9 here.

Please try to vote NOW, don’t delay, in case you have a technical issue and need help.

If you have problems validating by e-mail with VerifyMe, don’t struggle. Just email tellers@tjptsa.org for help.

2021-05-22 Prom Parent/Guardian Volunteers Needed

We’ve received two requests for volunteers from the 2021 Student Prom Committee and from Assistant Principal Shawn Frank. The prom is on May 22.

The volunteer needs are (parent/guardians only):

  • Setup 8am-12pm: 10 volunteers
  • First Shift 5:30pm-8:30pm 20 volunteers.
  • Second Shift 8:30pm-11:30pm 15 volunteers.

2021-05-16 Parent Volunteers Needed for AP Snacks on May 21, 24, and 25

The TJPTSA Academic Support Committee is again providing snacks and drinks for all students taking in-person AP exams in May! We’ll be feeding 1100+ students, and most of them will take the in-person AP exams on Monday, May 24, and Tuesday, May 25!

We will need parent volunteers to purchase individually packaged snacks and drinks (for about 1000 students in total) and deliver them to school on Friday, May 21. We will also need parent volunteers to work half-day shifts to help set up the snack distribution centers around the school and distribute the snacks and drinks on Monday, May 24 and Tuesday, May 25.

More detailed information regarding the actual delivery time etc will be communicated to the parent volunteers as soon as possible. Your help will be greatly appreciated by all the students and teachers!

2021-05-14 EC Officer Election Timeline

The current EC has finalized the timeline for the 2021-22 EC Officer Election, as shown below.

  • May 23, 5pm: Voter registration closes. Sales of 2020-21 memberships will close and 2020-21 membership products will be removed from the AtoZ Connect store.
  • May 30, 5pm: Ballot opens. Members on the voter registration list will be able to vote. The tellers committee will assist anyone who has technical issues.
  • June 6, 5pm: Ballot closes. Results will be announced that evening and the EC will officially transition.
  • June 11: New EC has their first EC meeting.
  • June 17: New EC runs their first General PTSA meeting. Note that they may choose not to have a June meeting.
