Parents and guardians of students in any of our band and color guard groups are automatically members of the organization, and are warmly welcomed to participate in our activities.&nbsp; The primary ways in which we support the students and staff of TJ Bands are volunteering time and skills, and fundraising.&nbsp; Each year we set aside \u00bc or more of our budget for financial aid to ensure that all students who want to participate in the extracurricular groups will not face a financial barrier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Groups Supported<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TJHSST Band Boosters supports the curricular and extracurricular programs of all TJ Bands:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Symphonic Band (2 class sections)<\/li><li>Symphonic Percussion (class)<\/li><li>Symphonic Wind Ensemble (class)<\/li><li>Percussion Ensemble (class)<\/li><li>Thomas Jefferson Marching Colonials \/ TJMC, our school\u2019s marching band (extracurricular group)<\/li><li>Winter Drumline (extracurricular group)<\/li><li>Winter Color Guard (extracurricular group)<\/li><li>Jazz Ensemble (auditioned extracurricular group)<\/li><li>Jazz II (8<sup>th<\/sup> period club)<\/li><li>Rotation Nation (8<sup>th<\/sup> period club)<\/li><li>Brass Ensemble (student-led ensemble)<\/li><li>Other small student-led groups<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-c5dce978-cadc-4d4f-b9f1-ebb4fe5e9d02\">Website<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"block-8240d871-ad51-4e28-9f1e-5de31d7c2746\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tjbands.org\">www.tjbands.org<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-58d745d6-bd8a-4ce4-ba63-af5b42e65484\">Merchandise<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Proceeds from merchandise sales and all other fundraising activities directly benefit the students in all of our 9+ ensembles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">License plate frames \u2013 Show your TJ spirit with our popular license plate frames!&nbsp; This much-anticipated band tradition happens once or twice per school year.&nbsp; The Fall Fruit Sale typically runs in October, with fruit delivery in November.&nbsp; The Spring Fruit sale usually occurs in February, with fruit delivery in March or April.&nbsp; For the 2020-2021 school year, meeting links are emailed to the families of all current students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our program calendar can be found at <a href=\"http:\/\/tjbands.org\/2020-2021-program-calendars\/\">http:\/\/tjbands.org\/2020-2021-program-calendars\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each year, our curricular ensembles present one concert per quarter.&nbsp; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-6adec3aa-47c3-481b-a99f-b5c35150a28b\">Our Plan for this Year<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Band Booster meetings are conducted virtually for the 2020-2021 school year while learning remains virtual. &nbsp;A meeting link is emailed to current band and color guard families each month.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jazz Ensemble and Jazz II are currently meeting together during 8<sup>th<\/sup> period.&nbsp; The students are working with our newly hired Jazz Specialist\/Assistant Director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When concurrent learning starts up, band class will meet with the band director, most likely in the auditorium.&nbsp; FCPS will provide certain protective items for safe in-person group playing.&nbsp; Band Boosters will provide additional items as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TJ Bands is hoping for opportunities to create music together in person.&nbsp;
