Anxiety: “Just Breathe” and why that doesn’t always work

Friday, Mar. 14 from 9 to 10:30 am, TJHSST Franklin Commons

While feeling anxious is a normal response to stressful situations, it can lead to panic or on the other end, checking out. In our teenagers, anxiety can sometimes influence their ability to focus, complete tasks, and maintain healthy relationships. In this parent support session, Danielle Armstrong, TJ’s Social Worker, will help us

  • identify phases of emotional arousal;
  • recognize when we, and our children, are in our “window of tolerance” as well as  signs of dysregulation; and
  • explore strategies for helping our children manage their emotions more effectively.
